Q2 Triumph: Surging Markets Beat Odds with Easing Inflation & Positive Earnings
This week Brian reviews the first half of 2023 and discusses how it was a bit of a shocker for investors and analysts, as the S&P 500 powered through, giving an impressive 8.7% return in the second quarter, inclusive of dividends. This surge set up a first-half gain of a whopping 16.9%, which hasn't been seen since 2019. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq skyrocketed to a first-half gain of more than 32%, a feat not seen since 1983.
